WHITEFISH LAKE CONSERVATION ORGANIZATION, IN: Whitefish Lake Aquatic Invasives Species Project
The Whitefish Lake Conservation Organization is sponsoring an AIS prevention education project including a boat inspection program at the public boat landing; educating boaters about AIS prevention; further development of an Adopt a Shore Line program; an AIS workshop; placing AIS educational articles in the lake association's newsletter and website; development and distribution of a localized AIS brochure; maintaining educational materials at boat landing kiosks; propose recommendations or regulations to protect the lake resources to the Town of Wascott Comprehensive Planning Committee.
The boat landing inspection program is based on a coordinator to train, schedule, and oversee paid and volunteer workers. Inspectors will attend Clean Boats, Clean Waters training.
