TOWN OF BEAVER: Beaver Creek Connectivity Project

The Town of Beaver, in Marinette County, is sponsoring a project to improve stream connectivity on the North Branch Beaver Creek, a class I trout stream. The Town is working in close cooperation with the Marinette County Land & Water Conservation Division and WDNR Fish Biologist to replace four culverts with a pre-cast clear-span bridge. The project will improve connection to more than 20 miles of cold-water tributaries and reconnect the floodplain in this portion of the North Branch Beaver Creek Fishery Area.

Project final deliverables include: The Marinette County Land & Water Conservation Division and WDNR will document installation and post-project stream alignment. The post-construction report will also document habitat improvements and detail future efforts to assess trout populations.

Specific project activities include: 1) Document pre-construction stream alignment (i.e. stream profile); 2) Correct stream alignment and install a Con-Span pre-cast concrete bridge over the North Branch Beaver Creek at 25th Road in the Town of Beaver; 3) Document installation including an as-built survey of the structure; 4) Document post-construction stream alignment and stream habitat improvements; 5) Track project outcomes through the DNR\2019s bi-annual assessments of the North Branch Beaver Creek fishery.

This scope summarizes: The project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Biologist.

If consultant is to provide final report, it is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
