MT. MORRIS LAKES MANAGEMENT DISTRICT: Mount Morris Drawdown Scoping Project

The Mount Morris Lake Management District is sponsoring an AEPP grant project to assess specific conditions on the lake relative to the potential efficacy of conducting a drawdown on the system.

Specific project activities include: 1) Gather water quality data; 2) Conduct plant surveys to document the populations / spatial distribution of both native and invasive species; 3) Collect advanced sonar data; 4) Conduct water quality sampling and assess results; 5) Conduct a sediment / consolidation study; 6) Hold two public informational meetings and 7) Complete a report of the findings of this project with management recommendations.

Project final deliverables include: 1) All data collected; 2) Agendas and minutes for planning meetings; 3) Educational materials and list of attendees; 4) Final report.

Specific conditions: 1) Coordinate the scheduling of public meetings with the DNR Lakes Coordinator such that at least two weeks advanced notice is given; 2) Data and reports shall be provided in an electronic format; 3) This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein; Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Biologist. 4) It is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft of the final report for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. 5) Grantee shall submit electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
