UNIFIED LOWER EAGLE RIVER CHAIN OF LAKES COM: 2020-22 Eagle River Chain EWM Hand-Harvesting & Monitoring
Unified Lower Eagle River Chain of Lakes Commission is sponsoring and ACEI grant to be completed by June 30, 2023. The project will focus on removal of Eurasian water milfoil (EWM).
Project activities include:
1. Integrate pest management for EWM using diver assisted suction harvesting (DASH) and hand pulling
2. Early-season and Late-season EWM survey and mapping
3. Chain-wide PI survey in 2022
4. Clean boats clean waters (CBCW) efforts
5. Invasive wetland plant monitoring
Project deliverables include:
1. Water quality results and CBCW entered into SWIMS
2. Annual AIS monitoring and control strategy reports
3. Point Intercept and EWM Mapping Surveys
4. Final report summarizing AIS mgmt. and future AIS mgmt. and monitoring suggestions
Specific project conditions:
WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) of final report, Aquatic plant survey data, GPS data and maps along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
