FOX LAKE INLAND LAKE P & R DISTRICT: Alum Treatment EA-Fox Lake
The Fox Lake Inland Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District proposes to evaluate a spring alum treatment in Fox Lake as a method to clear the water column to facilitate and promote growth of submersed aquatic vegetation. This evaluation entails only researching literature and evaluation of this method of clearing spring water and alternatives such as water level management. It does not entail field sampling or in-lake pilot studies. The assessment would determine what conditions should trigger such a treatment, what the costs would be, and what the likelihood of success or risk of failure might be. Copies of the final report will be sent to the Lake District, the local library, and posted on the District website for public access.
