CO/PA/PI VOLUNTARY LAKE ASSOCIATION: CoPaPi AIS Control

This project includes three lakes (Connors, Papoose and Lake of the Pines). An Aquatic Plant Management (APM) Plan was approved by the Department in July of 2008 and adopted by the Lake Association. This grant will be used to implement AIS control measures as identified in the plan.

Project goals include: 1) Eurasian water milfoil (EWM) growth is kept to a minimum level in Connors Lake; 2) EWM does not establish and spread into Papoose Lake or Lake of the Pines; 3) The growth and spread of Curly leaf pondweed is minimized in Connors Lake; 4) No new AIS are introduced and established in our lakes; 5) The lakes' diverse native plant communities are preserved; 6) Lake residents understand the importance of native aquatic plants, the means to protect them, and the threat of AIS; 7) Aquatic plant management efforts are carried out in an efficient cost effective manner.
