POLK COUNTY LWRD: Big Butternut Lake Water Quality & Biological Monitoring Study, (Phase 1)
Polk County Land and Water Resources Department is sponsoring a two-phase project to assess water quality and biological conditions and trends; engage and survey landowners and stakeholders; survey and develop a management plan for aquatic plants; and monitor stormwater.
The specific Phase 1 (LPL-1297-09) project tasks include: 1) Expanded water quality monitoring, including algae and zooplankton monitoring; 2) Lake level and precipitation monitoring; 3) In/outflow monitoring; 4) Groundwater monitoring and flow estimates; 5) Sociological survey; 6) Education and outreach, including a pontoon classroom, aquatic plant workshop, and NEMO presentation.
