Minong Flowage Residual Testing

Minong Flowage Association is sponsoring a 3-year project to implement approved activities from the Minong Flowage Aquatic Plant Management Plan. Approved activities include chemical treatment and manual removal of Eurasian watermilfoil (EWM); herbicide residual monitoring; annual pre- and post-treatment aquatic plant surveys; EWM weevil, curlyleaf pondweed, and wild rice monitoring/mapping; temp/DO meter purchase and water quality testing; implementation of a watercraft inspection program; public meetings and outreach; and annual reporting. Note: this project was not funded in whole and may need to apply for future grants to achieve the activities and deliverables described in this scope.

Deliverables include GIS maps of areas monitored; aquatic plant survey results (spreadsheets and narrative summary); watercraft inspection data collection and entry in SWIMS database; information and education products; and Aquatic Plant Management Plan updates, as necessary. This information will be provided in an annual progress report and treatment plan for the next year and a final project report.

Special Conditions: All monitoring and management should follow approved recommendations within the Minong Flowage Aquatic Plant Management Plan, WDNR's Aquatic Plant Management in Wisconsin guidance, and/or Citiizen Lake Monitoring Network protocols, as specified by the Department.

Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Coordinator.
