BEAVER DAM LAKE IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATION: ENUM - Puckagee Springs Restoration

The intent is to provide shoreline stabilization to an eroding fringe of wetland surrounding the Puckagee Springs Fisheries Property on Beaver Dam lake. BDLIA will work with property manager (FM) to secure a land-use agreement to conduct the work necessary to restore and protect wetland areas. They will conduct necessary field data collection needed to update technical restoration plans and provide them to DNR staff to ensure meeting management objectives for property. Work with EOR to develop; plans, specs, RFP, select contractor, develop approach for implementing activities of the restoration. Addressing both the North and South Segments and determine best access points during construction phase. Work with Property manager (FM Biologist) and Facility and Lands to ensure project is consistent with management objectives.

Project deliverables include:

Work with DNR staff to secure the following deliverables.

1) Site survey to confirm current physical condition and location of project area.

2) Revise drawing, plans, specs, and scope of work with EOR, to ensure a robust restoration and protection of the spring wetland areas.

3) Secure a qualified contractor and competitively bid work to be performed and secure the necessary permits including a Chapter 30 permit, and work with Jeff Schure DNR-WMS.

4) BDLIA will work with DNR staff to assess and determine feasibility to see if access from Sieske Rd is possible, if not BDLIA/MOR will need to determine other access options.

5) Reestablish parking area at Sieske Rd. determine if adequate funds exist and work with FM property mgr.

6) North segment: Repair and enhance existing stone rip rap to extend correctly above mean high water mark.

7) South segment: Repair and enhance existing stone rip rap to extend correctly above mean high water mark.

8) Complete all necessary final reporting to ensure grant compliance.
