CITY OF EAU CLAIRE: Half Moon Lake

This project aims to control curly-leaf pondweed, monitor submersed macrophyte biomass, and monitor success of alum treatments at controlling phosphorus release from sediments.

Specific project activities include:

\2022 Application of Endothall

\2022 Monitor CLP turion frequency in April (prior to treatment), June (peak biomass period), and August (new germination)

\2022 Monitor and quantify native submersed macrophyte biomass response in June and August

\2022 Examine sediment samples for determining effectiveness of alum treatments at sequestering iron-bound phosphorus to reduce internal phosphorus loading

\2022 Monitor water quality parameters for determining effectiveness of alum treatments at maintaining water clarity.
