POLK COUNTY: LMI - Magnor Lake Management Plan Implementation

Polk will partner with Magnor Lake District and agricultural landowners to install BMPs that will reduce phosphorus loading to Magnor Lake. Deliverables include: engineered design plans, maps of locations of installed BMPs, operation and maintenance (O&M) plans, costshare contracts, and a final report that describes the installed BMPs and estimates nutrient and sediment reductions. Activities include: design and install watershed conservation practices including grassed waterways, water and sediment control basins, contour buffer strips, shoreline restoration, and cover crops. Special Conditions: Restoration projects utilizing grant funds or used as match to this grant require pre-approval from the WDNR. All permits must be issued before construction, and all regulatory requirements apply. Designs shall follow NRCS standards and comply with county zoning standards for shoreline restoration. Polk County shall enter into landuse agreements for lands restored utilizing grant funding or used as match to the project to ensure land restored remains in conservation per s. NR 193. A 10-year O&M period is required for approved Healthy Lakes and Rivers projects. All other restoration projects require the land be maintained for conservation for a 20-year period through a land use agreement including a O&M plan recorded at the Registrar of Deeds Office. With each reimbursement request, grantee must provide: a list of practices to reduce nonpoint source pollution installed since during the period for which you are seeking reimbursement. For each practice, include date installed, cost and estimated load reductions for N, P, and Sediment lb/yr. WDNR staff may be contacted for technical assistance.

This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the WDNR in a format specified by the Biologist.
