RANDOM LAKE ASSOCIATION: Random Lake Aquatic Plant Management Study (Update from 2008 APM Study)
Random Lake Association is sponsoring a full lake point intercept (P/I) survey and update to the 2008 Aquatic Plant Management (APM) Plan.Final deliverables: Excel spreadsheet of raw data from P/I plant survey; updated APM plan and map of all stormwater sewer discharge points along lake shoreline with aquatic plant density.Activities: Summer 2022 P/I survey; develop APM plan and map stormwater sewer discharge points. Plan analyzes plant data and provide management recommendations. Plan elements: 1)Summary table listing plants found, # sites found, frequency of occurrence (FOO) at sites shallower than max depth of plants, and average rake fullness; 2)Comparison table listing plants found, 2008 FOO; 2022 FOO; 2008 average rake fullness and 2022 average rake fullness; 3)Discuss changes in plant community over time; 4)Maps of P/I for each of the 5 to 7 top native plant species and any non native species; 5)Color map imposed on air photo showing harvester cutting paths and specifics like length, width and depth of cut and specific path locations (GPS start points); 6)Table with past 5 years history of chemical treatment; 7)Discuss logistics of harvesting including disposal site; 8)Discuss chemical treatment strategy options for next 5 years 9)Discuss DASH and hand removal options. Special Conditions: All data shall be entered into the SWIMS database. The scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Biologist. If consultant is to provide final report, it is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Biologist with draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
