THREE LAKES WATERFRONT ASSOCIATION: Three Lakes Chain Env. Monit. Ph IV - Maple
The Three Lakes Waterfront Association (TLWA) is sponsoring a project which will focus on updating water quality, aquatic plant, and aquatic invasive species (AIS) information on Maple Lake as part of their Lake Management Plan (LMP). This is expected to be part of Phase 4 of 8 with the remaining lakes in the Chain to follow in subsequent projects.
Project final deliverables include: 1) Data from water quality monitoring, aquatic plant surveys, and purple loosestrife (PL) and yellow iris (YI) monitoring; and 2) an annual project report.
Specific project activities include: 1) Sample lake water quality; 2) Conduct aquatic plant point-intercept (PI) surveys (following DNR protocol), early season AIS mapping surveys (for EWM and CLP), and aquatic plant community mapping; 3) Monitor PL and YI populations.
Special Conditions: 1) WDNR Lake Biologist will be provided with an electronic copy of reports; data from water quality, aquatic plant, and AIS monitoring and surveys; all maps and GIS data from project.
2) Water hardness sample should be collected between July 15-Sept 15 to follow DNR LTT protocol. Another water hardness sample can also be collected at spring overturn if desired;
3) The data for temperature/dissolved oxygen profiles, Secchi depths, and yellow iris/purple loosestrife monitoring and biocontrol should be entered into the SWIMS database under this grant project (unless another partner such as the CLMN volunteer or Oneida County is already entering the data).
This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Biologist.
