Manitowish Waters Chain of Lakes Aquatic Plant Studies - Phase Ib - Rice Creek. Expand Awareness and Education of Lake Management and Stewardship Matters. Continue control and monitoring efforts on other aquatic invasive species that pose a threat to the Manitowish Waters Chain of Lakes. Control Existing and Prevent Further Aquatic Invasive Species Establishment within the Manitowish Waters Chain of Lakes.
Project final deliverables include:
(1) NLDC will provide a written report that includes all educational activities, including dates, times, and number of participants. We will provide copies of social media postings, press releases, and links to potential TV interviews. All CBCW data will be entered into SWIMS.
(2) Community Mapping Survey.
(3) Data Analysis and Report Creation.
Specific project activities include:
(1) Assess current aquatic plant community, a point-intercept (PI) survey.
(2) An aquatic plant community mapping survey.
(3) NLDC educational initiatives.
Special Conditions: DNR is to receive copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request. It is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft of the final report for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant.
It is strongly recommended that an annual management strategy meeting be held each winter with DNR to discuss EWM management for the next year before aquatic plant management permit applications are submitted.
