IRON RIVER PIKE CHAIN OF LAKES ASSOCIATION: Pike Chain 2023 EWM Monitoring & Management Project

Iron River Pike Chain of Lakes Association is sponsoring a project to manage EWM in the Pike Chain.

Project final deliverables include:

1. Final Report (AIS Monitoring & Control Strategy Assessment Report) summarizing accomplishments/progress of the grant including meandering survey results, treatment plan, post herbicide monitoring results, late season EWM map, Annual Report with herbicide/hand removal results and next year plan, final year PI survey.

2. Financial Payment Request with documentation of grant administration time and services, contributions, financial match, proof of payment of expenditures, and organizations providing financial support.

3. Meandering survey results with EWM maps

4. Treatment plans

5. Post herbicide monitoring results

6. Late season EWM Maps

7. Final year PI survey

8. Annual Report outlining previous year activity and plan for next year.

9. Additional related items paid by this grant.

Specific project activities include:

Meandering survey, EWM mapping, treatment plan with appropriate control method using various chemical herbicide, and/or physical removal (hand pulling/diver/DASH), obtain necessary permits , post herbicide monitoring, late season EWM mapping, final year PI survey, Annual Reports, and Final Report.

Special Conditions: Review effectiveness of various herbicides to determine best usage.

This scope summarizes project details provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, reports, GIS-based maps, and digital images must be submitted to DNR in a format specified by the regional Lake Biologist.

If consultant provides final report, it is recommended Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
