CISCO CHAIN RIPARIAN OWNERS ASSOC: Cisco Chain AIS Monitoring & Management Project (2023-2025)

Cisco Chain AIS Monitoring & Management Project (2023-2025) Project work includes AIS monitoring, EWM mapping and management, AIS prevention, quantitative plant evaluations of 2020 ProcellaCOR treatment on Big Lake, and PI surveys on Big, West Bay, and Mamie Lakes.

Project final deliverables include:

(1) Monitor and collect baseline data to detect ecological change.

(2) Summaries of new AIS findings, maps depicting locations, and tabulated results

(3) Provide WDNR with long-term data on a ProcellaCOR treatment.

(4) Maps and tables of pre and post treatment conditions of managed sites.

Specific project activities include:

(1) Reduce/sustain low levels of EWM abundance and distribution

(2) Improve early detection and response to new aquatic invasive species

(3) Monitor and collect baseline data to detect ecological change

(4) Provide accountability for management actions - management evaluation

(5) Reduce risk to non-target species

(6) Prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species

Special Conditions: DNR is to receive copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request. It is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft of the final report for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant.

It is strongly recommended that an annual management strategy meeting be held each winter with DNR to discuss EWM management for the next year before aquatic plant management permit applications are submitted.
