Manitowish Waters Chain of Lakes CLP Control. Conduct curly-leaf pondweed Population Control on the Manitowish Waters Chain of Lakes using Hand-Harvesting and Herbicide Spot Treatments. Control Existing and Prevent Further Aquatic Invasive Species Establishment within the Manitowish Waters Chain of Lakes. Expand Awareness and Education of Lake Management and Stewardship Matters
Project final deliverables include:
(1) Summarized annual report.
(2) Monitor and collect baseline data to detect ecological change.
(3) Total CLP removed and future recommendations.
Specific project activities include:
(1) Locate populations of CLP and perform hand-harvesting and DASH for CLP.
(2) Assess current CLP population utilizing an Early Season AIS (ESAIS).
(3) Expand Awareness and Education of Lake Management and Stewardship Matters.
(4) Herbicide spot treatments.
Special Conditions: DNR is to receive copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request. It is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft of the final report for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant.
It is strongly recommended that an annual management strategy meeting be held each winter with DNR to discuss EWM management for the next year before aquatic plant management permit applications are submitted.
