DANE COUNTY: Restoring Cherokee Lake- Sed. Hydrodynamics
Dane County Land and Water Resources Department proposes to subcontract to the UW-Madison Dept. of Civil and Environmental Engineering an integrated research effort to understand the sediment dynamics in order to plan a restoration approach. Monitoring and modeling of water flow, wave characteristics, and sediment dynamics will be done. The resulting data will be used to evaluate methods to stabilize sediments and improve water clarity in this lake and downstream waters. A high-resolution bathymetric map and a sediment profile map will be created. Partners include Town of Westport, USGS and City of Madison.
