TOWN OF WASHINGTON: Instrumentation for Determining Water Balance for Anvil Lake
The Town of Washington is sponsoring phased large scale lake planning grants to study Anvil Lake, in Vilas County. The project will focus on developing a Lake Management Plan (LMP) for Anvil Lake, which will allow Anvil Lake to become eligible for lake protection grant money in the lake management plan implementation category.
Phase 1 project activities include: 1) Synthesis of existing Anvil Lake data; 2) Information and Education activities \2013 public information meeting, press releases, newsletter articles, website updates, mailings, community survey, and presentations; 3) Water quality sampling (CLMN) and analysis; 4) Point-intercept (PI) aquatic plant survey; 5) Recreational use survey; 6) Fisheries assessment; 7) Shoreline assessment; 8) Develop LMP.
Project deliverables include: 1) Community survey, news releases, and newsletter articles; 2) PI, shoreland, recreational use, and water chemistry data; 3) LMP.
Specific conditions for this project: 1) Draft of stakeholder survey needs to be submitted to Lakes Management Coordinator for review and approval before sending to public; 2) LMP needs Dept review and approval.
WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) and hard copy of LMP, news releases, newsletter articles, community survey, data from PI survey, recreational use survey, shoreland assessment, and water quality sampling, all maps from project, and all GIS data.
