TEAL, LOST LAND & GHOST LAKES IMPROVMT ASSOC: Quiet Lakes Large Scale AIS Management

The TLLGLIA is sponsoring a project to implement approved Eurasian watermilfoil (EWM) management activities from their aquatic plant management plan.

Activities: 1) EWM management (herbicide treatment and hand pulling); 2) Annual late summer EWM bed mapping; 3) Pre-post point-intercept surveys of treatment areas; 4) Herbicide concentration monitoring and analysis; 5) Installation of AIS decontamination station at boat landing; 6) Clean Boats, Clean Waters (CBCW) inspections at boat landing; 7) Distribute EWM educational materials to resorts.

Deliverables:

1) EWM management and permit reporting (herbicide treatment records); 2) Data from all aquatic plant surveys; 3) Herbicide concentration results in SWIMS; 4) Decontamination station; 5) CBCW data in SWIMS; 6) Annual and final EWM management and monitoring reports.

Conditions:

1) All monitoring shall follow DNR protocols. 2) Provide recorded land use agreement between Grantee and the property owner before installation of decontamination station to DNR. 3) Upon station installation, provide date of installation and photo of self-cleaning station to DNR. 4) All educational materials shall use DNR messaging; DNR review and approval is required before dissemination. 5) Conduct annual meeting with DNR Biologist to discuss EWM management for the next year before aquatic plant management permit applications are submitted.

This scope summarizes details provided in the application and does not negate tasks and/or deliverables described therein. Data, reports, surveys, and supporting information, including photos, maps and GIS data, must be submitted to the DNR in electronic format and in any other format they specify.

If a consultant provides a final report, it is recommended that the Grantee provide the DNR a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making a final payment to the consultant. Include electronic copy of the final report along with or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
