BIG ROUND LAKE PROTECTION AND REHAB DISTRICT: Big Round Lake Alum Treatment - Alum Application 3 of 4
The Big Round Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District is sponsoring a project to restore water quality by treating 674 acres of lake sediments deeper than 10 feet with alum. The alum treatment will control 78% (1600 lbs) of the source of phosphorus which causes the lake to exceed water quality standards for phosphorus and chlorophyll. The restoration project will result in the multiple lakes achieving water quality standards and reduce HAB bloom frequency.
Activities: alum treatment in Big Round Lake
Deliverables: a final report documenting the alum treatment that includes monitoring and dosage data for all days.
Conditions:
1) Alum treatment shall follow conditions in DNR wastewater permit.
2) Combination of funding between this grant and TMD48026Y25 cannot result in reimbursement of more than the total eligible costs.
This scope summarizes details provided in the application and does not negate tasks and/or deliverables described therein. Data, reports, surveys, and supporting information, including photos, maps and GIS data, must be submitted to the DNR Biologist in electronic format and in any other format they specify.
