BLACK OAK LAKE PRES FDN: Black Oak Lake Protection & Restoration of Riparian Shorelines, Phase 4
Black Oak Lake Riparian Owners Association is sponsoring phased project to study Black Oak Lake, in Vilas County. The project will focus on aquatic invasive species (AIS) prevention activities, studying shorelands and water quality in Black Oak Lake and then update the Black Oak Lake Adaptive Management Plan (LMP). This would allow Black Oak Lake to become eligible for lake protection grant money in the shoreland restoration category.
Phase 4 project activities include: 1) Review and analyze littoral zone and riparian area conditions to prioritize shoreline restoration and protection areas; 2) Select candidate protection and restoration sites; 3) Develop protection/restoration plan for each demonstration area; 4) Hire Clean Boats/Clean Waters (CB/CW) monitor and continue CB/CW program; 5) Update LMP with protection/restoration plans.
