BIG BEARSKIN LAKE ASSOCIATION: Bearskin Lake Stewardship Program Phase 1

Big Bearskin Lake Association is sponsoring phased large scale lake planning grants to study Bearskin Lake, in Oneida County. The project will focus on developing a Lake Management Plan (LMP) for Bearskin Lake. Phase 2 will be submitted for funding during the Feb 1, 2012 grant cycle.

Phase 1 project activities include: 1) Gather and assess existing Bearskin Lake info; 2) Point Intercept (PI) aquatic plant survey, community and substrate mapping and analysis; 3) Watershed assessment and water quality sampling; 4) Rusty Crayfish assessment and removal; 5) Rare species assessment; 6) Educational program stakeholder survey, meetings, newsletter articles, and press releases.
