BIG BEARSKIN LAKE ASSOCIATION: Bearskin Lake Stewardship Program, Phase 2
Big Bearskin Lake Association is sponsoring phased large scale lake planning project to study Bearskin Lake, in Oneida County. The project will focus on developing a Lake Management Plan (LMP) for Bearskin Lake. Phase 1 was funded during the Aug 1, 2011 grant cycle and Phase 2 was funding during the Aug 1, 2012 grant cycle.
Phase 2 project activities include: 1) Watershed modeling and water quality sampling; 2) Rusty Crayfish assessment and removal; 3) Rare species assessment and shoreline assessment; 4) Educational program, 2013 watercraft inspections, lake ecology workshop, meetings, newsletter articles, and press releases; 5) Develop LMP.
