VAN VLIET LAKE ASSOCIATION: Van Vliet Lake Shoreland & Aquatic Plant Study

Van Vliet Lake Association is sponsoring a large scale lake planning grant to study Van Vliet Lake, in Vilas County. The project will focus on updating a Lake Management Plan (LMP) for Van Vliet Lake.

Project activities include: 1) Stakeholder participation \2013 stakeholder survey and planning meetings; 2) Shoreland assessment; 3) Aquatic plant community mapping and acoustic mapping; 4) Develop aquatic plant monitoring and management strategy; 5) Update LMP.

Project deliverables include: 1) Stakeholder survey; 2) Aquatic plant, acoustic and shoreland data; 3) Aquatic plant community maps; 4) Updated LMP.

Specific conditions for this project: 1) Draft of stakeholder survey needs to be submitted to Lakes Management Coordinator for review and approval before sending to the public; 2) Draft of LMP needs Dept review and approval.

WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) copy of LMP, stakeholder survey, data from shoreland assessment, aquatic plant community survey and acoustic mapping survey, all maps and all GIS data from the project.
