LAKE RIPLEY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT: Post-Watershed-Restoration Stream Evaluation Stream
Lake Ripley Management District plans to monitoring the inlet stream to evaluate changes that have resulted from watershed best management practices from the Priority Watershed Project. Inlet water quality samples will be collected and analyzed, along with flow and water level to establish a flow rating curve. Resulting loading rates and water quality will establish current stream conditions. Water quality monitors will also be trained to assist in future monitoring. Current stream condition data are needed as part of a broader, post-restoration monitoring and assessment effort to help guide future management directions. Results will be shared via newsletter and routine meetings of District, which are locally televised, as well as press release to local media outlets. Also, key findings will be incorporated into existing planning guidance.
