AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING CHIEF OF POLICE TO INSTALL REGULATORY MARKERS IN AREAS OF THE YAHARA RIVER AND LAKE MONONA [Dane County]

The Chief of Police may authorize the installation of regulatory markers in the waters of the Yahara River and Lake Monona within the jurisdiction of the City designating such areas as slow-no-wake zones.

Boating activities shall be limited to slow no wake speed in the narrows, south east end of the Marshall Mill Pond to the Mill Dam. Speed zone buoy markers meeting the Wisconsin uniform waterway marking system standards will be installed by the Village between the NE corner of the Marshall Community Park playground area and the storm serer on the shore straight east. Such buoys will bear the legend, "Slow-No Wake"

No person shall operate a boat at a speed in excess slow-no-wake within any swimming or fishing zone. No person shall operate a boat upon the waters covered by this ordinance at a speed in excess of slow-no-wake provided that this provision shall not apply to boats participating in duly authorized races over a course laid out and plainly marked and adequately patrolled.
