Impaired Water Notes
Now meeting WQ Standards; new data supports delisting. The Scuppernong River section that is listed on the Federal Impaired Waters List (303(d) List) was listed as impaired due to temperature impacts on the river caused by the headwaters impoundment. With the removal of the impoundment in 1993, demonstration of in-stream temperatures that are supportive of salmonids and their reproduction justify removal from the list.
