Water is impaired due to one or more pollutants and associated quality impacts.
Notes
Fenwood Creek was evaluated for phosphorus in 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2020 for phosphorus. In 2012 phosphorus levels too high for healthy aquatic communities like plants, bugs, and fish and the creek was listed. The evaluations from 2014 to 2020 confirmed the listing. This water is part of the Wisconsin River TMDL, approved in 2019, placing it on the Waters In Restoration List. The 2024 evaluation showed no new impairments.Pollutant

Impaired Water Notes
This water was assessed during the 2012 listing cycle, and total phosphorus sample data exceed 2012 WisCALM listing criteria for the fish and aquatic life use; however, available biological data do not indicate impairment (i.e. no macroinvertebrate or fish Index of Biotic Integrity (IBI) scored in the "poor" condition category). This stream segment was reassessed during the 2012 assessment cycle using data from 2001-2010 and revised assessment methodology (draft 2014 WisCALM). Using this methodology, total phosphorus data exceed criteria for the Fish and Aquatic Life use; however, available biological data do not indicate impairment.
