Water is impaired due to one or more pollutants and associated quality impacts.
Notes
Dog Lake was placed on the impaired waters list in 1998 due to mercury from atmospheric deposition in fish tissue. This water was assessed in the 2012 listing cycle and the mercury levels in fish tissue was confirmed.
Dog Lake was listed for high phosphorus levels in the 2018 cycle. Phosphorus and algae evaluation during the 2022 cycle noted a change in lake classification from Two-Story to Shallow Lowland, which changes the TP criteria. The phosphorus listing was removed in the 2024 cycle based on new data.Pollutant
