This portion of Vermont Creek was placed on the impaired waters list in 2004 for Sediment/Total Suspended Solids and degraded habitat. This portion of the stream is a Class III trout water.
This stream segment was evaluated for biology in 2016 and 2018 and for phosphorus and temperature in 2018. Phosphorus levels were too high for healthy plant, bug, and fish communities, though fish and bug samples showed they were in good condition. Temperature was removed from the Impaired Waters List in the 2022 cycle.
