The 2002 data documentation sheet indicates that there are violations of pH standard and eutrophication from nutrients. The nutrient loading is from nonpoint sources of pollution to Lake Tomah, causing algae blooms that occur throughout the summer.
As of 2002, lakes condition monitoring was conducted in 1998 (WDNR) - Monthly water chemistry sampling from June through September using Ambient Lakes Protocol. Surface field pH was above 9.0 on two of eight summer sampling dates in 1998.Hard copy water chemistry data from Lake Tomah is in the Lake Biologist files at the Eau Claire WDNR Service Center.
