This stream should remain on the 303d list until a fish and habitat study is completed to document existing conditions. Long Coulee Creek probably should not have been put on the 303d list since the existing use was the same as the codified use in 1975.

Fishery survey 1975 - documented four forage species and no trout. Not recommended for trout stream classification.

Hydraulic and Sedimentation Study of Halfway Creek and Sand Lake Coulee Creek. Town of Onalaska, WI. November 1995, Vierbicher Associates Inc. EDA Project No: 06-06-61051. - Documented a substantial sediment load to Halfway Creek which originate in the lands that drain to Long Coulee Creek.

1986 Biotic Index sampling results indicate an HBI of 4.038 (very good).
