Impaired Water - Granite Lake (Granite Lake)
Barron County, Wisconsin
LC09
2100800
154.94
Water is impaired due to one or more pollutants and associated quality impacts.
Notes
Granite Lake was evaluated for phosphorus and algae every two years between 2012 and 2022. Chlorophyll-a values were too high as seen in algal blooms on the lake during the summer months. This lake is covered by a restoration plan: Jackson Creek Watershed Restoration Plan (expires 2026). New water quality data reviewed in the 2024 cycle indicated chlorophyll-a levels may be decreasing; more monitoring is recommended.
