Notes
This water was originally listed in 1998 due to a pH exceedance. The lake was indicated as having turbidity and eutrophication in the 2001 basin report. The data shows that in 3 summer samples in 1990, there was one 1 pH violation at 9. 6. Summer samples in 2006 found no pH violations. Based on data collected in 2006 the lake should not have been placed on the 303d list. The water was delisted in 2008.

Impaired Water Notes
Popple Lake was listed for TP, nutrients and pH as far back as 1998. However, in 2008 it was taken off the list for these parameters by Central Office (when only Hg should have been removed) due to a lack of data.

Pat Oldenburg believes that regional staff did not object to the de-listing because recent data (2006) suggested it should not have been on the list in the first place. A new documentation sheet was apparently never prepared, the previous sheet should provide sufficient documentation.
