Assessments during the 2020 listing cycle show total phosphorus levels too high for healthy aquatic communities, like plants, fish, and bugs, resulting in placement on the Impaired Waters List. Chlorophyll data were found to be appropriate for both Recreation and Aquatic Life uses. This lake is covered by a restoration plan: Implementation Plan for the Lake St. Croix Nutrient Total Maximum Daily Load (2025). This lake was evaluated for aquatic plant communities in the 2024 assessment cycle. The plant community was found to be impacted and this lake was listed for degraded macrophyte populations.Pollutant
