Impaired Water - Mississippi River (Mississippi (Reach 4) Coon-Yellow - Pool 9 portion - LD 9 to LD 8))
Crawford, Vernon County, Wisconsin
BL01, BL02
721000
648.00 - 679.10
31.10
Water is impaired due to one or more pollutants and associated quality impacts.
Notes
This reach of the Mississippi River was originally listed in 1998 due to PCB-contamintated fish tissue. A general water quality use impairment due to mercury and PCB levels in the water column exceeding water quality standards as well as specific advisories for PCBs and Mercury in fish tissue was added in 2010.

This portion of the Mississippi River was evaluated for phosphorus every two years from 2012 to 2020 and levels were found to be too high for healthy plant, bug, and fish communities.
In 2020 this water was assessed for chloride and no impairment for that parameter was found.
