Impaired Water Notes
Newton Creek's current designation for Fish and Aquatic Life use is as a limited forage fish community (LFF), but from discussion with Dennis Pratt and others, its attainable Fish and Aquatic Life use designation should at least be as a warm-water forage fish community (WWFF), a step up. It needs to be surveyed to see what its current status really is. Also, Murphy Oil may undergo major changes to in the next several years greatly enlarging the refinery, etc, which could lead to changes in water (flow) volume for Newton Creek. It might be best to see what happens concerning this.
