Impaired Water - Green Bay (Green Bay (Inner Bay, Aoc))
Brown County, Wisconsin
GB01, LF01, LF05
70
13,867.36
Water is impaired due to one or more pollutants and associated quality impacts.
Notes
The Green Bay Inner Bay is an Area of Concern (AOC). It is listed for PCBs, total suspended solids, and total phosphorus levels found in the bay. This water is part of the Lower Fox River TP & TSS TMDL that was approved by the EPA in 2012.

Evaluation of microcystin in the 2022 cycled showed very low levels when detected. New fish tissue data evaluated during the 2024 cycle indicated elevated PFOS levels, prompting listing for PFOS in this water.

Impaired Water Notes
The Lower Fox River Basin TP and TSS TMDL was approved by the U.S. EPA on May 18, 2012. The TMDL covers 27 waterbody segments impaired by total phosphorus and 18 waterbodies impaired by TSS for a total of 45 TMDLs. These TMDLs address degraded habitat, low Dissolved Oxygen (DO), eutrophication, and turbidity impairments.
