Zion Creek has been on the state's 303(d) impaired waters list since 1998 for Total Suspended Solids and Total Phosphorus. This stream segment was evaluated in 2018, 2022, and 2024; chloride, phosphorus, and bacteria indicated a healthy system. Due to morphology of the stream the local biologist would like one more year of data before delisting phosphorus.
