Water is impaired due to one or more pollutants and associated quality impacts.
Notes
Branch River was listed for PCBs in 1998. In 2014 and 2018 fish and bug communities were assessed and were in fair to excellent condition. In 2020 an assessment for phosphorus found levels too high for healthy aquatic communities like plants, bugs, and fish. This water was listed for phosphorus in 2020 and confirmed in the 2022 cycle. This water is covered by the Northeast Lakeshore TMDL, approved in 2023. New water quality data reviewed in the 2024 cycle indicated no additional pollutants.Pollutant
