Impaired Water Notes
Continuous dissolved oxygen monitoring was completed at three locations on the Wolf River for one week in August 2007. Dissolved oxygen concentrations fell below 5 mg/L at all the sites. Streamflow was barely detectable at the two upper sites as a result of drought conditions that had persisted for the past few years. Streamflow increased at the lower site from effluent discharged by the Stanley treatment plant. The oxygen levels in the stream increased as a result of good effluent quality and the higher volume of water likely increasing aeration. Lower extent of impairment unknown. Monitoring the past few years indicates the impaired which would not extend below the River Road Crossing. Additional monitoring should be completed to determine the extent of the impairment below CTH MM.
