Impaired Water - Unnamed (East Trib. to Parsons Cr)
Fond Du Lac County, Wisconsin
UF03
136200
0.00 - 1.89
1.89
Water is impaired due to one or more pollutants and associated quality impacts.
Notes
The major temperature impairment was found to be a connected enlargement located above CTH B where the enlargement warms the significant amount of spring water entering the area in the summer and cools it too much in the winter. The enlargement also causes D.O. concerns in the winter. (Warmer water holds less oxygen). Significant sediment erosion exists below CTH 175. Ditching was extensive in the past between CTH B and CTH 175.

The East Trib. to Parsons Cr. originates about 1/3 mile east of HWY 41 where it is intermittent. It becomes perennial just west of HWY 41 where there is a spring area. It crosses CTH B about 1/3 mile below that point and then CTH 175 below that. It enters the main stem of Parsons Cr. in the east end of Hobbs Woods.

Water segment includes: The East Trib. to Parsons Cr. originates about 1/3 mile east of HWY 41 where it is intermittent. It becomes perennial just west of HWY 41 where there is a spring area. It crosses CTH B about 1/3 mile below that point and then CTH 175 below that. It enters the main stem of Parsons Cr. in the east end of Hobbs Woods.

The enlargement also causes D.O. concerns in the winter. Significant sediment erosion exists below CTH 175. Ditching was extensive in the past between CTH B and CTH 175.

A TMDL/303d study was conducted in the summer of 2006 on the East Trib. to Parsons Cr. along with the same study on the main stem of Parsons Cr. Temp., D.O. and Chemical and biological data were collected (fish and macroinvertebrates were collected below CTH B). All raw data can be found in SWIMs.

Stations: Stations were located below CTH B, below the RR Tracks between CTH 175 and the confluence with Parsons Cr. and 100 feet above the confluence with Parsons Cr.

Parameters: Chemical parameters were for temp., D.O., cond., pH, T-P and O-P, N-series, SS, alkalinitiy and T-hardness. TidBits were installed for the entire year of 2005 at the station above the confluence with Parsons Cr.
