WAPOGASSET/BEAR TRAP LAKE IMPROVEMENT DISTRI: Wapogasset/Bear Trap Lakes Macrophyte Survey & Sed. Chemst.

Purpose

The Wapogasset/Bear Trap Lakes Improvement Association proposes to further study the macrophyte community and the sediment chemistry of both Wapogasset and Bear Trap Lakes for the potential to treat them with alum. The project will include these activities: 1) perform detailed aquatic plant survey in June and August, 2) collect and analyze sediment and algae samples, 3) prepart final report. The Department of Natural Resources will be provided with both a paper copy and an electronic copy of the final report. The project results will be disseminated to the public by summary and newsletter report mailing(s), public meeting(s) and local newspaper articles.
