DRUID LAKE INLAND P & R DISTRICT: Druid Lake Management Planning

Purpose

Conduct an inventory of private sewage systems on the lake to determine adequacy of present systems and make recommendations for correcting suspected problem systems. Identify sensitive areas in the lake. This will include conducting an aquatic plantsurvey using the modified Jessen - Lound survey technique. Conduct a watershed inventory using DNR nonpoint source inventory procedures. Estimate sediment, phosphorus and nitrogen loading to the lake. Prepare a comprehensive lake management plan. TheInformation will be disseminated to the public by newsletter, local newspaper articles, public meetings and report mailings. Project results will be reposited at local library and town hall, DNR and consultant.

Lakes Planning Report The research performed as documented in this report identifies the potential impact that private septic systems located adjacent to Druid Lake may have on the water quality of Druid Lake: inventories the existing land use within the Druid Lake watershed: and evaluates existing data to best determine environmental problem areas within the watershed. In addition, a base map of Druid Lake was prepared and will be utilized in future studies to be performed within the lake (i.e., macrophyte and bottom substrate survey).
