POLK COUNTY: Lotus Lake, Phase 2, Education & Riparian Survey Project

Purpose

The Polk County Land & Water Resources Department will conduct a comprehensive two phase lake management planning project involving a study and evaluation of Lotus Lake in Polk County. Project activities for the Phase 2 portion of this study include; watershed delineation and land use inventory including historic data, exotic species inventory and macrophyte diversity survey, sociological landowner survey, lake level and precipitation monitoring, and lake phosphorus loading modeling using WiLMS. Specific deliverables for this grant project include: A comprehensive final project report, covering both Phase 1 and Phase 2 studies, including the project results and an evaluation and analysis of the study findings. The project results will be disseminated to the public by newsletter(s), public meeting(s), and local newspaper articles.
