The Pickerel/Crane Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District proposes to inspect and correct pollution problems from failing septic systems. Project activities include the inspection of at least 50 of the oldest septic systems in the lake district for signs of failure. The results will be reported to the county zoning adminstrator for follow-up compliance. A final report will be prepared including the inspection results and a list of failed systems and their locations. A paper copy and an electronic copy of the final report will be provided to the Department of Natural Resources. Information on the project results will be disseminated to the public by newsletter, public meeting, and individual reports mailed to property owners. end.
