Purpose

Prepare a hydrologic budget for the lake. Estimate nutrient and sediment export rate into lake. Conduct a surveuy of lake shore residents. DNR will receive copies of the final report. Information will be disseminated to the public by newsletter, localnewspaper articles, news releases and public meetings. Project results will be reposited at Barr, land conservation Office project report files.

The study described by this report was initiated by the Deer Lake Improvement Association for the purpose of providing information to water resource managers and citizens regarding the management of Dee:r Lake. The study resulted in determining that Deer lake is a mesotrophic to slightly eutrophic lake, which experiences degraded water quality in the fall due to internal loads of phosphorus.
