THUNDER LAKE P & R DISTRICT: Thunder Lake Management Planning

Purpose

Conduct water qualitymonitoring. Analyze new and existing water quality data on the lake and water resources within its watershed. Conduct lake water level data. Develop water level manipulation recommendations. Evaluate present water levels for theirimpact on the lake's ecosystem. Conduct analysis of lake fishery. Analyze new and existing data on fish population, growth and habitat. Prepare an evaluation of cranberry operations adjacent to the lake that includes information on water levelmanipulation and its effects on the lake's ecosystem. Conduct a survey of lake property owners to determine land use of their properties. Prepare a restoration plan for wild rice and wild celery to promote desited fish populations. Information will bedisseminated to the public by newsletter, local newspaper articles, TV and/or radio spots, public meetings and report mailings. Project results will be reposited at District aand Field DNR facilities, Town Offices, County Offices, Chamber of Commerce,Sports Clubs and the Three Lakes Library.
