Reports and Documents
The City of Madison received a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for analyzing sediment quality along Wingra Creek and in Lake Wingra. At the same time, the City requested that two sediment samples be obtained and analyzed for quality at Spring Harbor on Lake Mendota. During meetings with the City, DNR, and Woodward-Clyde Consultants (WCC) six sites along the Creek, two sites in the Lake, and two sites at Spring Harbor were selected for sampling, and marked on 1" =200' aerial photographs. Subsequent to that meeting; the City requested WCC to collected an additional sediment sample for analysis in Lake Wingra. This site is near the Knickerbocker Street storm sewer outfall. This report describes the sampling procedures; present field observations; lists the lab results and discusses the results.
